Date Night

A few weeks back Justin asked me to go out on a date. Let's be honest, it had been QUITE a long time since we last went out just the two of us (where it wasn't a group thing or something). Anyway we got ready to go and headed out....

I needed to ship something so we went on a hunt for a UPS drop box and in during the hunt we headed out of town. I thought we were going to hit up a bar on the lake BUT Justin missed the corner, or so I thought.....

We pulled up to this and I was shocked!

This new winery had just opened a few weeks prior and I was literally SHOCKED

We enjoyed sampling several wines and then spent the night on the patio enjoying a bottle of yummy wine. Before it got dark we took a stroll through the grounds and it was just GORGEOUS.

After our stroll we headed off to a bar on a lake. What a perfect end to a perfect night!

Visit from Friends

We had an unexpected, but fun group stop by last weekend. A friend of ours from HS was back from Arizona and he and his family came to stay with us for a few days. We hadn't met his wife or daughters so it was fun to catch up.

Miss Aubrey is such a doll. She is so sweet, and cute as a button. A VERY chill girl, that one.

Daddy grilled us a delicious meal and I couldn't get enough of the munchkin eating her corn on the cob. She was covered, COVERED in kernels and butter. Quite the look! Saturday the Noble's family went to see the Mall of America while we were at the air show. The came back around dinner time and we took them to a restaurant downtown.

Sunday morning when we got up no time was wasted. We set up the pool Saturday night hoping the water would warm up in time to play Sunday. Kennadee and Maddox had a blast flipping between Bear's pool and the pool we actually set up for them.

Funny story, we bought the pool Saturday afternoon and it had been up about 20 minutes before the neighbor's dog jumped in. Talk about annoying! I had been working very hard at not letting Bear jump in. Worked for him but not the other lab. Just my luck!

Anyway, the kiddos loved it. Sunday afternoon Kimberly and I got pedicures and when we got home she spoiled us with a homemade meal. That night before bed we had a mini photo shoot. Kennadee went in for the kill and Maddox didn't hesitate. :)

Little buds! Lots of fun watching these two play together. Maddox did great sharing (which I was pleasantly surprised by) and it was nice having someone for him to play with.

James got in on the photo action, Maddox really liked him. So glad they stopped by for a visit and we hope we can visit them sometime in AZ!

MN Air Show

Last weekend JR, Maddox and I jumped in the car pretty last minute to attend the airshow being held here in Mankato. Maddox is very into planes right now and we hoped this would be something he would enjoy. Little did we know, we would be sitting in an hour + "traffic jam" to get in to the air field. Thankfully we were able to still watch the show since it started before we got there.
We thought this was pretty cool. The red line is a parachute! It was pretty amazing!

Maddox and the Blue Angels

This act was cool but nothing compared to..........................

 THIS!

The Blue Angels! They were amazing. We weren't sure what to expect but I knew it would be pretty awesome. Maddox had gotten pretty bucky and we didn't want to leave before they performed. I think we made the right choice. He has talked about the "big jets" quite a bit since the show which has been fun.
For an impromptu activity it was a great day had by all! So glad we went.

Frontenac 2012

Over Memorial Day weekend we traveled East to Frontenac to stay overnight. We didn't make it over there last year so it was nice to visit. Maddox was having a blast on Grandpa's old tricycle, which he loved.

Every time we visit, Justin talks about re-doing this  old building. His ideas are interesting so we will see what happens in the future.

One of my favorite photos of the weekend..... They just look so cute!

So nostalgic...... looks like his is just dreaming about his future

My favorite wild flowers given to me by my favorite boy

Quick trip in to Red Wing for lunch and a little shopping. We had a picnic lunch down by the river which turned out to be pretty fantastic. Maddox got to see a barge come through (you can see a glimpse behind us) and he saw train went passing by, which he was very excited about.

It was a great trip, even if it was quick......
