This weekend I have had cabin fever pretty bad! I keep looking around our house trying to decide what I am going to change here, or there, or everywhere! I love winter and snow but I am really ready for spring to just get here. I just want to open my windows and smell the fresh air. I am not looking forward to the melting/dirty season (never been a fan of the months of March/April for this reason!) but I can't wait to be able to just walk around the neighborhood with Maddox and Bear.
Part of my spring time goals include doing some mild work outs. Wish I could get into it like I had before getting pregnant with Maddox but finding time to fit in work outs at a gym are pretty much impossible. I started a Jillian Michaels DVD and hope to get somewhere with it.....
As I ponder my leap into spring, I am looking around my living room realizing my first project should probably be putting away my snowmen decorations.... :) hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe tomorrow!

Maddox is 4 Months
I know I am behind on posting about this but, Maddox didn't see the doctor until Thursday for his 4 month check up. Here are his stats:
Height: 24 inches = 65th %
Weight: 14.15 lbs = 45th%
What are you up to these days?
Height: 24 inches = 65th %
Weight: 14.15 lbs = 45th%
- 4 oz bottles during the day, 6 or 8 oz before bed.
- you wear 3-6 month clothes pretty much exclusively now.
- size 1-2 diapers (quickly moving to 2!)
- Sleeping through the night (8:30 or 9:00 pm till 7:30 am)
- Our bed time routine has gotten easier for all of us. You finish your bottle and if you are still awake you will play in your crib until you fall asleep.
- You are really good at gigging and your laughs are infectious.
- you're VERY vocal and you let us know what you think about everything! You squeal all the time!
- You can now roll over from your tummy to your back and your back to front.
- We can't leave you alone because when we come back you are never where we left you!
- You are working at sitting up and love to pull yourself up when playing with mommy and daddy.
- Books have gotten a little more interesting these days and you tend to reach for them when being read to.
- You still love to cuddle but are just as comfortable playing on your own.
- Jumping in your excersaucer entertains you for quite awhile!
- You've become quite the little wiggle worm and Daddy and I have found you completely turned around in your crib. We've even found you with your feet out of your jammies!
- Sucking on your toes is a new trick you started doing in the past few weeks.
- Everything (and everyone) around you has gotten VERY interesting.
- Bear is hilarious for some odd reason. He walks by you squeal with delight. He wags his tail you giggle. He licks your face, you laugh. You've even attempted to eat his tail!
- EVERYTHING you touch goes in to your mouth.
- Sometimes I wonder how you get your hands ALL THE WAY in your mouth.
- You just started chewing on your bottom lip and "moaning". It's really funny and I think you kind of look like Crush the turtle from 'Finding Nemo'.
- Mommy thinks you are going to be a sports fanatic. Every time you hear it on TV you will turn your entire body in order to get a better view.
Can't wait to see what you can do and learn over the next month!

Uncle Stretch Comes to Visit
Last weekend Uncle Stretch came all the way from Denver for his yearly visit. Let me just say my husband forgot that he is actually 27 and not 21! (Actually, I think all of the boys forgot this but that is neither here nor there!)
Saturday night was a guys' night so I am not sure what all went on but I suppose that is probably a good thing. :) It was great to have Stretch in town, we miss seeing him.

Four Month Old Photos

On Saturday Maddox officially turned 4 months old. To celebrate we went and got his picture taken. Oddly enough he wasn't overly into the smiling and posing for the photographer. I couldn't believe it! He was smiling and cooing all the way too (and from!) the studio.
These are a few of my favorites so I thought I would share. Not to worry family and friends, I will be sending you some when I get them all organized. :) Hope you enjoy!

First Hockey Game
Since we are "Minnesotans" now we found it only right to expose Maddox to his first hockey game at a young age.
So, Friday night we attempted our first MSU Hockey game with Mr. Maddox. Justin had gotten tickets from a friend and wasn't sitting with us but, we took advantage of our first hockey photo op! My parents, sister and her boyfriend Tom all went too. I think it was quite an experience for all of us.

Hastings Visit
Over the weekend we finally made it to see Justin's Grandparents up in Hastings. They hadn't gotten to meet Maddox yet and were getting anxious! We were hoping they would get to meet them sooner but with the weather, work schedules, etc. it hadn't worked out. Thankfully the weather held off and it worked out this weekend!
We headed up there on Saturday morning and spent a few hours hanging out and had a nice meal and visit. Since we had missed out on the family Christmas we opened our gifts where Maddox lucked out yet again! He got some sleepers that are perfect because he has quickly grown out of the ones he has right now. :)
There were lots of comments surrounding Maddox's Iowa gear but what can we say!? We are Hawkeye fans for life!!!! The day was a success and we are glad we could all get together!

Road to Vancouver 2010
I don't know about you guys but I LOVE the Winter Olympics.
I would love to actually go to them some day. Don't get me wrong I love the Summer Olympics too but there is something about all of the snow and cold that just gets me. I think it is absolutely amazing to see all of the tricks the snowboarders can do, or watching the crazy jumps skiers attempt,or watching a person literally fly down a mountain racing for the best time. I also love, love, LOVE watching the luge and bobsledding teams. I can't imagine flying through those tunnels that they do.
My Grandma always loved figure skating and I think that is part of why I love that sport so much too. I can't imagine flipping, spinning, twirling, etc. on a hard piece of frozen water. (much less being THROWN in the air by a partner!) The thought terrifies me but I love to watch it! I will never forget when Michelle Kwan won her 2nd gold medal even though she was favored for the gold in 2006..... I thought she would for sure be the winner but that is just how things go. Guess it goes to show, competition is never ' in the bag'
So that makes me wonder, will Lindsey Vonn succumb to the Sports Illustrated jinx? I feel absolutely terrible for her having to deal with all of the media speculation surrounding her injury. Just this morning on the "Today Show" Ann Curry (I have never been a fan) asked Picabo Street if she thought this was Lindsey's way of getting out of all of the pressure for the gold. I hate that the media always feels the need to 'speculate' there are ulterior motives behind everything. Kind of like how they can't leave Tiger Woods alone now. I mean really can we ever just cut a person a break? Ok, he messed up big time but really- we still need to have headlines about it 3 months later?
I guess what I really want to say is that I really hope that Team USA does the nation proud. I know the athletes will compete to the best of their abilities, and what an honor! I know I for one, will be cheering for all of the athletes involved. Can't wait for opening ceremonies tomorrow night, GO TEAM USA!

Ali's Bridal Shower Weekend
With the questionable weather last Friday we weren't sure Ali, my sister, would be able to make it home from DC for her bridal showers. Thankfully she was able to catch a much earlier flight and ended up in the cities around 9 am instead of 9 pm.She made it to my mom and dad's house early afternoon Friday and got down to wedding business. Maddox and I met them in Fairmont for a quick bite at the Channel Inn. (side note: I love that place!) Then it was off to bed for a big day of wedding planning.
Saturday morning was Ali's 'community' shower in Ringsted and she got lots of wonderful gifts and lots of great family and friends there to celebrate. I am still trying to figure out how I can steal some of the good stuff with out her noticing! After all of the shower extravaganza April, my mom, and I went to get our dresses fitted so we would be ready for the big day.
I can't believe she will be getting married in less than 2 months. Soon enough we will be adding another new member to our family and I can't wait!
Sunday Maddox and I headed back to Mankato while my sisters, mom, and her friends headed to Schleswig for a shower with Trent's family. Maddox and I got back to Mankato in time to watch the big Super Bowl game. It was a quick, but fun, weekend. Can't wait for the big day!

We are Rolling!
We have officially begun to rollover!!! Over the weekend Maddox apparently rolled over in front of my sisters (which of course I missed!) but I didn't count it until one of us witnessed it.
Tonight Iput him down on the floor with all of his toys. I walked away to do something and when I turned back to check on him he was in mid roll. I yelled "Yay Maddox!" and Justin came upstairs. I figured he wouldn't do it again but he did and he hasn't stopped since. I think he thinks he is a pretty cool dude now. :o)

Snug As A Bug
It seems that last weekend had a theme,
Maddox is a cuddly boy and who wouldn't want to be with him?
If you would have told me a year ago that my Dad, or Maddox's Papa, would love on him so much I would have said you were crazy.
