Frontenac Filled Memorial Day Weekend

Over Memorial Day weekend JR, Maddox, Bear and I headed east to visit a family favorite- Frontenac, MN. Justin's family has a place in "Old" Frontenac and it really is a great place to relax. We are within walking distance of Lake Pepin and love to take in the sites of the Mississippi River.

Since this was Maddox's first visit we made sure to do all of the Hunecke favorites. We hit up the pier in Lake City, got our first Lake City sweatshirts, walked around Lake City taking in the sites and shopping, walked around Frontenac State Park, and even visited some favorite stores in Red Wing. Maddox was even lucky enough to dip his toes in Lake Pepin. He wasn't quite sure what he thought at first but quickly took it all in. Bear, of course, thoroughly enjoyed his time bouncing through the water.
Grandpa Larry and Great Grandpa Don created a quick swing that was a perfect addition to the Frontenac landscape! I am not sure who enjoyed themselves more, the kids or the adults!

Great Grandpa did get in some spoiling time and I think he and Maddox really enjoyed one another. At one point I found them both laying on the living room floor playing with some rather fascinating toys!

Finally, a cute/good family picture of all 4 of us.

Four Generations of Hunecke Men.

It was definitely a fun filled weekend with lots of great memories for the years to come. Can't wait to get back there hopefully this summer! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.
