This is a tough one for me because I have been a Jason Aldean fan since "Hicktown" hit the charts. He had me hooked from word go but, my love has continue to grow with songs like "Why", "Amarillo Sky", "Big Green Tractor", "The Truth" and now "It's a Crazy Town". Something about the lyrics he sings just get me..... every time I hear them I go back to something, somewhere.
Since I don't have a "favorite" per say, (how do you pick!?) One that always invokes emotion would definitely be "Amarillo Sky". This is the line that gets me every time....."He just takes the tractor another round; And pulls the plow across the ground"
I get goosebumps every time I hear these words because I think "that's my dad". He did that, he DOES that, on a daily basis.
It takes me back to my days growing up on a family farm in Iowa. That's right folks, I'm an Iowa farm girl with a resume full of several hours spent behind the wheel of a big "green" tractor. My dad taught me what hard work means (even if I tried my darndest to ignore it) and I spent many a day pulling the plow across the ground. I love it so much that even though I have become a city girl (in address only), I still feel at home on the farm. Every fall I find myself making excuses to sneak south for the weekend (or longer!) to do what I love.
Here's what I am wondering.... What is your favorite Jason Aldean song and why?
While you're trying to decide, check out another favorite of mine. Just can't got wrong when you're a country girl at heart!
On May 14th, I will be seeing Jason Aldean live (AND up close and personal) in St Paul thanks to COUNTRY Financial's sponsorship of the Road Trips and Guitar Picks concert series. I can hardly wait to be rocking to his music again! If your able to get tickets you should really check him out live, it's an experience you won't forget!
This is so hard Mandy! You know how much I love Jason Aldean too!
ReplyDeleteOk...I agree on Amarillo Sky. My favorite part is: "I never complain, I never ask why, please don't let my dreams run dry." Pulls at my heartstrings every time!
I love his ballads, he sings them so well! I have to go with, "The Truth," as my favorite. When he gets to the part where he admits he still loves her...ah! I just love it!
When I want to crank the radio, "She's Country." No question about it! :)
