So true

Got this in my email this morning.... How true it is!
"Fitness―if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body."
~Cher

Thanks Favre

Can I just say as a life long Green Bay Packers fan I am THRILLED to hear that Brett Favre decided against joining the Vikings. I loved him (and still do) when he was the heart and soul of the Packers but really hated seeing him in any other uniform, (purple and gold would have been the worst! -for me at least) I am just really happy that the Favre saga has ended.... for now. I hope he does continue to stay retired and just call it good. I think last years performance was less than stellar so why would he want to try it again?

On the other hand I still don't know why Vikings fans really wanted him. I realize he had surgery but do you really think he would have lasted a whole season? I realize his drive to beat the Packers would have been awesome, that he would have helped with sell out crowds, and that you don't have overly great QB options this year but still..... I don't think he would have really been your answer but then again I suppose it is my jealousy that they could have had him while GB has moved on into a different direction. (seriously, Ted Thompson, what were you thinking?..... I still don't get that but whatevs. I suppose his injury last year made your case.)

Anyway I just wanted to say THANKS to Brett for deciding against coming to MN. I for one really appreciate that he will not be coming to training camp here in Mankato 'cuz I can't even imagine what that craziness would have been like during the next 2 weeks. (not to mention all of the press coverage that is SO LAST YEAR!) So, thanks again Brett for deciding not to don the purple and gold and continue your retirement. You are still my favorite and I hate that we won't get to cheer you on in green and gold but staying retired was the best decision you could have made!

29 Weeks

Had our 29 week Dr. appt this morning. Everything seems to be going right on schedule according to the Doc. He said he wanted to see us in 3 weeks so from there we start going more and more... This is all starting to become more real each day! Hard to believe we only have 10.5 weeks till the due date.

How far along? 29 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: still 2 lbs under where I was before I got pregnant but doing well. Dr says that I am "perfect" in that department

How's Mommy been feeling? Suddenly overwhelmed with the worries of becoming a mommy.

What about Daddy? He told me today that he is getting nervous about bringing Baby Hunecke home. I must admit this didn't help my anxiety!

Maternity clothes? Definitely wearing maternity shirts but pants I can still make my regulars work.... I still hate the panels in the mommy pants

Sleep: can't sleep through the night but this is mostly due to the terrible back pain I have been encountering.... nothing has really been helping either. :(

Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat again

Babies Heart Rate: 155bpm

Food cravings: Strawberries sound DELICIOUS!

What I can't stand: Peppers, BBQ sauce

Gender: Still unsure - Last week to vote!

Thoughts on Names:

  • Girls name is decided

  • Boys name-suggestions welcome! :)

    • Belly Button in or out? No change really

      Due Date: 10/10/09

What I miss: rolling over with ease, being comfortable whenever I sit down

Weekly Wisdom: I really don't have any.... :)

      Milestones:
Peanut is about 2.5 pounds now and 15 inches long! Crazy to think how big s/he is.

      Couldn't Have Said It Better

This song by Brad Paisley has been on the radio for a month or two but everytime I hear it I just smile. I know I don't say it enough but I am really lucky that I married my best friend.

      Here are the lyrics

I remember, trying not to stare the night that I first met you
      You had me mezmorized
And three weeks later, in the front porch light
taking forty-five minutes to kiss goodnight
      I hadn't told you yet
but I thought I loved you then

      Chorus

And now you're my whole life
      now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
      stronger than it's ever been.
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

And I remember, taking you back to right where I first met you,
      You were so surprised
There were people around, but I didn't care
Got down on one knee right there once again,
I thought I loved you then

      Chorus

And now you're my whole life
      now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
      stronger than it's ever been.
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

I could just see you, with a baby on the way
And I could just see you, when your hair is turning gray
What I can't see is how I'm ever gonna love you more
      But I've said that before

And now you're my whole life
      now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in
And I'll look at you and say
And I thought I loved you then
And I thought I loved you then

      Lazy Weekend

This weekend will probably not be overly exciting.... I am planning to leave work early today but I really don't have any big plans for Saturday. I am kind of hoping to have a garage sale next Friday and Saturday so I guess I will just use my time to get that stuff organized. Justin is off this weekend but who knows what he will be up to, hopefully mowing the lawn!? :) I think we are going to do a baby registry at Target at some point so that should be fun. Personally I just love looking at all the fun/cute things they have for babies. Yes I know I am a dork!

Sunday is the Special Olympics Softball Area Tournament in Fairbault. I am excited to see how the teams do. We have a few different players from last year but I am hoping we can still come out on top. We were State Champs last year so I know expectations are pretty high. I know the goal is to just have fun but I am way too competitive for that to be my only motto!

      Have a great weekend!

      Very Moving Video

I am a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance and last night I was NOT disappointed. This routine will stand out in my mind as one of the best ever danced on this program. Anyone who has fought the breast cancer fight, had a loved one that has fought the fight, or anyone that has been affected by cancer this is something you should take the time to watch. Enjoy and let me know what you think

      28.5 Weeks Baby Bump

Since I was on a LEEP vacation to San Diego over the weekend I didn't get my update done on time. I made the other staff take a "belly" picture of me in the ocean because I thought it would be cool to look back at one day. Here is how things are going this week!

      How far along? 28.5 weeks
(holy crap-3rd TRIMESTER! which when you say you have 11.5 weeks till d-day makes it UNREAL!)

Total weight gain/loss: Unsure, have a Dr. Appt next Tuesday... I do know I am still not up to what I weighed before becoming pregnant.

How's Mommy been feeling? health wise, relatively good but tired! I am glad I pushed through and got as much done as I could earlier.

What about Daddy? he hasn't answered me yet.... hopefully he is still "getting ready"

Maternity clothes? so far so good.... still fitting in reg. pants luckily, I am not a fan of the panels as they are hot and make my tummy itch!

Sleep: Wish I could sleep through the night. Dreams are getting WEIRD!

Best moment this week: I can't pick one really... I just love feeling Peanut moving around

      Food cravings: Nothing really.....

What I can't stand: Peppers, BBQ sauce

      Gender: Still unsure

Thoughts on Names: Have a girl's name picked.... still working on a boys-suggestions welcome! :)

Belly Button in or out? No change really
      Due Date: 10/10/09

What I miss: The ease of bending over! :)

Weekly Wisdom: Walking all day in 95+ dry heat probably isn't the best idea at this point in pregnancy.... I was totally worn out in San Diego because of it.

      Milestones: NURSERY IS FINISHED!

      San Diego Sunburn

We made it back last night from San Diego, YAY! Overall it was a good trip though there was quite a bit of walking involved. (go figure!) I personally enjoyed Sea World the most. We were able to see Shamu, an AWESOME Cirque De La Mar show, dolphins, and so much more. My only complaint was the heat. (probably because I am a walking incubator these days) The San Diego Zoo was fun as well and it was amazing to see a Panda up close and personal and my favorite, the GIRAFFES! Oh so CUTE!! Some other places we visited were Mission Beach, Coronado Island, and the Wild Animal Park.

The group was really pretty good but there were lots of complaints about the heat and walking. I am getting used to these complaints though I wish there were other things I could do to get their minds off of it. I think if I were to go back I would do it in the winter. I definitely got some color so this was a good thing! I love looking sun kissed!!

Here are some pics of the trip

      California Bound- Trip 2

Tomorrow morning bright and early (4:30 AM!!!) , I will be headed for sunny California. We are going to San Diego this time and will be enjoying the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and Wild Animal Park. It should be a good time as I have never been to any of these attractions out there. :) I am TOTALLY pumped to get up close and personal with the giraffes.... don't know what it is about those creatures but I absolutely LOVE them! Hope everyone has a good weekend and wish me luck on my trip out west.

Here is a quick look at what we have done so far. We are waiting for the dresser/changer and still need to get the border up on the wall but things are coming together. :)

      27 week update!

I have been trying to do a "weekly" update on the pregnancy progress but it hasn't always been super on track. There have been lots of questions about how everything has been going so I thought I would just try to answer them all in weekly updates. (thanks to a fellow blogger for some of the questions, very creative!) Here are the most common questions ANSWERED! :)

      How far along? 27 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: probably about 10 pounds gained- was at 8 pounds at my 25 week appt.

How's Mommy been feeling? health wise, relatively good. Still nauseous at times (wondering if it will end or if I need to just go with it?!) Getting really nervous about the parenting thing. Stress has been mounting daily so we will see how it goes from here on out!

What about Daddy? He says he is "getting ready"

Maternity clothes? Some. Still able to make my regular pants work for now but shirts is a different story! I did break down and get some new maternity shorts and capris over the weekend.

Sleep: ok but, I wake up with terrible leg cramps 3-4 nights a week.... OUCH!

Best moment this week: Feeling the baby hiccup for the first time

      Food cravings: Fun Dip!!

What I can't stand: BBQ sauce (still), Chipotle burritos,
Gender: Absolutely no idea- Go vote!

Thoughts on Names: Have a girl's name picked.... still working on a boys-suggestions welcome! :)

Belly Button in or out? still in but beginning to wonder if it will disappear

What I miss: not enjoying a nice cold margarita.... hot summer days are making me really crave one! Not being able to bend over or get up as easily as I used to!
What I am looking forward to: Seeing Justin with the baby. I can't wait to see how fast Peanut has him wrapped around it's little finger!

Weekly Wisdom: Every first time parent panics a little bit... it is normal- right?!

      Milestones:
      • picked out and purchased a stroller/car seat combo.
      • Got the nursery painted and started putting it together!
      • Starting to register at Babies R Us and Target.

      The Nesting has Begun!

Just got a call that the crib is in! Justin is in for it this weekend. :) he, he!! Can't wait to get it picked up and put together. Our weekend will be spent in a room far too small for the 2 of us but it will all be worth it in the end! Justin asked what color I was planning for the room and when I said a light or sage green it was in complete agreement so this was a nice surprise! (I truly feared a camo print wall just 'cuz he thought it would be funny!)

Every time I walk into our house now I just want to rip it apart. Everything is gross and dirty to me so that is yet another project we are going to tackle this weekend!

We also got the dresser/changer ordered so that is on the way. Thanks to all of our parents for chipping in and helping us out with the furniture. Peanut is already spoiled and loved SO much!

      Here is the dresser/changer:

Can't wait to put up pictures when it is all put together!! Wish us luck on getting everything organized this weekend, it could get interesting!

      Thought for the Day

Thanks to Jamie for hooking me up with "thoughts of the day". I got my first one today and it was PERFECT!

"My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my dog already thinks I am"
      ~Author Unknown

Now wouldn't it be nice if everyone had someone like this to come home too? Life would be so much simpler!

      Baby Poll

Over the weekend lots of people asked me what I thought we were having and honestly I couldn't answer. I really have no idea! I keep flip flopping between the two so I thought it might be fun to hear your thoughts.I put up a poll on the left hand side of the blog where you can choose boy, girl, or not sure. You could also leave a comment with your thoughts behind your answer. I think this could be pretty interesting and lots of fun so if you have a few seconds just let us know what you think!

      4th of July Photos

Brody was being silly and a ham so I HAD to take his picture!

Have to end the parade with this guy, just isn't the 4th without it!

Brooke and me posing for a preggers picture.
We are about 7 weeks apart so I thought it would be fun to get a picture together! Who knows if we will ever be pregnant at the same time again. :)

Dad and Kathy chillin on the boat before the fireworks

Mom and me enjoying the beautiful weather on the boat

      And the fireworks started!

      4th of July fun!

How crazy is it that the 4th of July has already come and gone? I guess this means that summer is half over and I don't see it slowing down one bit, this could get interesting! Anyway, here is a glimpse of how we spent our holiday weekend.

Unfortunately JR had to work all weekend so he hung out in 'Kato. I suppose there are worse holidays that he could wind up working but it still stinks.... he stayed up here while I headed to Ringsted.

I had Friday off of work so I headed down there on Thursday night. It was just me and the 'rents so it was easy to talk them into hitting up Armstrong's DQ. Easily my favorite tradition when I am home. :)

Friday my mom and I headed to E'burg to meet my grandma for lunch. It was nice to catch up and chit chat. She has been so cute about the whole baby thing and actually started keeping track of baby names she thought I might like. I have 2 notebooks full of A-Z names for both boys and girls- too funny! That night Jamie, Aaron, and the kids stayed with us in preparation for Jamie's big 10 year reunion Saturday. It was great to see them and I always love spending time with the kids (no offense mom and dad!).

Saturday I got up and met my mom in Armstrong to help judge the Cutest Baby contest. MAN that was HARD, there are so many cute little babies out there. After the parade we headed over to Emerson Bay on Lake Okoboji to enjoy a BBQ and the fireworks. I have never seen fireworks on the water before so I was pretty excited to get to do that. The show was great and I loved hanging out with everyone to wtach them.

Sunday I helped my parents with a few random things around the farm and headed home. I was one tired girl- and so was Bear. He didn't move much on the ride home which is always a good indication that he is tired! I think I was ready for bed at 7:00 last night. I would have gone to sleep too if I thought I would actually sleep the whole night through.

So now we start another week. Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!

Baby Stuff- WARNING could be boring to some readers!

Some of you have been asking what the nursery is going to look like so here are a few things we have.

This is the crib we picked out:

And here is the nursery bedding set we got- I LOVE it even more in person!!!

      100 Days

I was looking at my baby countdown on here and realized that today is the big 100 days mark! Yes, you read that right, 100 days till D-Day! Here are some of my thoughts on this....

      100 days until:
      1. I hopefully get to meet my little Peanut
      2. I am a MOM
      3. Justin is a DAD
      4. Our lives completely change for the better
      5. Those cute little feet attacking my insides will be attacking me from the outside!
      6. Our parents are GRANDPARENTS
      7. My sisters become Aunts for the first time
      8. Justin's sisters get to add to their clan of nieces or nephews
      9. Someone else is completely dependant on me and Justin- EEK!
      10. Poop Patrol will hit in full force
      11. Bear will be confused on what that little bundle is wailing about
      12. No sleep (or less than I am used to at least)
      13. I will feel even less prepared for this event than I do right now... is this a bad thing?

I could keep going but I should probably get to work. :) Don't forget to give us your thoughts on the baby's gender. Still too close to call and I love hearing why people think it is what it is.

      Happy 4th of July

My favorite holiday is just around the corner!!! Sure, I love Christmas and Thanksgiving but ever since I can remember the 4th has by far out ranked those other holidays. I am not sure what it is exactly that makes that day stand out so much but I some of the best memories of childhood took place on or around the 4th.

The past few years haven't been overly exciting and this year looks to be no different but, I still can't wait for it to get here. The fireworks always put me in such a good mood and I can't wait to see them again this year. Unfortunately Justin won't be with me this year but he is enjoying his 4th of July celebration as we speak up at Lake Mille Lacs where he can do all the boating, fishing, and "celebrating" he so chooses. I am off to Armstrong/Ringsted this weekend and hope I get to do some catching up with some old friends. Have a safe and happy 4th of July week!
