Summertime......

I can tell that summer is around the corner! No, unfortunately not because of the weather, because we are so freaking busy! I swear there is something EVERY WEEKEND in May and it just keeps going and going. I keep trying to figure out when and how, Justin and I can fly out to DC for a few days to hang out with Ali, Trent, and April, head to State Center to catch at least 1 or 2 of Aaron's baseball games, hang out with Jess and Mitch, and get to both of our parents houses for at least a little visit. As I look at the calendar the days are quickly filling with this or that.

After last summer Justin asked me to not have the entire summer planned out before it got here BUT I have had no real choice. Things just keep popping up. I wish it really were that easy to not have a filled calendar but in the real world it doesn't work that way. Everyone is so busy we have to schedule too far in advance.

The good news is (for us at least) when summer is over we will have a new addition to our family. Now trust me I am not wishing the summer away, I am simply being real about what is to come. So I guess what I am saying is- we will do our darnedest to get out and see all of you but we all know how that goes.

Hopefully summer will come soon and the nice weather will stick around. :) I need the sun and I am ready to be outside all day and all night!

16 Weeks

Today we hit the 16 week mark!! (I really need to get better at taking belly pictures!) I still am not 100% in the mornings but usually it passes by about 9:30-10 so that isn't too bad. I find myself eating ALL THE TIME which is actually very strange to me. I have never been a person that NEEDS to eat.

Luckily I can still wear my regular clothing though I am quickly realizing that I am going to need some new stuff soon. I am not gaining weight, losing actually... lost another 2 pounds and I have NO idea where it goes! However, my body has totally changed. (yeah weird I know- ha!) My belly is out there now and it is getting more and more obvious. My mom was awesome and got me some maternity clothes off of Ebay but since my boobs are getting bigger (yippee, we all know how much help I needed in that department- not!) those shirts won't fit for too much longer.

As I read what I wrote above I feel like it sounds like I am complaining but I really am not. I couldn't be happier about everything! I just want to remember what I was feeling and when I was feeling it so HOPEFULLY when we get to do this again I will know what I am in for. :)

So far it has been quite a journey, now I am getting excited for all that is to come.... feeling the baby move, getting the nursery set up, waddling like a duck, and most importantly becoming a mommy-that is something that I for one, CAN NOT wait for!

Here is my list of Pregnancy "Weirdness"!
  • Still can't stand to smell: BBQ sauce, Eggs, Green Peppers, Coffee
  • Foods that don't sit well: Chocolate (not even a snickers bar-bummer)
  • I Want, I Want!: DQ blizzards, Lettuce Salads, Granola Bars, Apple Juice, candy- eek!
  • What I Wear: still in regular clothes, just wearing loser shirts now and sweats or shorts as soon as I get home from work.
  • Sleeping: super light sleeper now, everything wakes me up!

Baby Shopping!

Today we finally bit the bullet so to speak. JR and I hit up a HUGE church wide garage sale just up the street from our house and hit the mother load!! :)

We have been doing research on things that we would like to buy but figured either 1.) it was too expensive to pay full price or 2.) we weren't sure we needed it. Also, the more we buy the more we have to move so we were holding out, so I thought.

Like I said we hit this sale and found lots of great buys but probably the best buy was the stroller that we picked up. Justin has been saying that he would like a "jogging stroller" since we found out we were expecting. Now I am not dumb, I know he doesn't want it for actual jogging BUT he thinks the wheels are "better" cuz they are" bigger" than those other ones. Anyway I wasn't going to spend $200-300 on something like that but when we found one that we liked for $50 that looks almost brand new, we couldn't pass it up. :)

So now we are ready for some serious walking (or jogging) when the time comes. We also picked up some odds and ends like bottles, books, toys, blankets, and a playmat. I think we did pretty well and I am thinking it really started our weekend off right!

***this isn't the exact stroller but pretty close. Just giving those of you that may not know what I mean a visual! *** :)

LEEP Unified Volleyball

Tonight is our 2nd LEEP Volleyball practice. I love this season but I do forget how much work it is at the beginning. Lots of reminders on form, etc. I think this may be why I never pursued a coaching certificate while in college. Oh well, at least this is all for fun. :)

Housing Situation

Some of you may have heard in the past that things haven't been the most successful in the housing business for JR and me.... We moved to Garden City and 5 months later the house gets sold. So we moved to Mankato in to a place that unless we bought a place we figured we could/would park for the next 2-3 years. (the landlord was in agreement when we signed the lease)

Well, that all changed in February when we were served Foreclosure Papers on the rental property. Apparently it had already been in the papers by this time (which we had no idea about) so it was already well on the way to foreclosure process. I should back up a bit though because back in probably September/ October we had some police officers stop buy inquiring about the rental license for the town home. Since we didn't know where it was we referred them on to our landlord who then admits she doesn't have one (great should have seen this coming). So supposedly she was in the process of getting one figured out and we weren't supposed to worry about it.

So back to the foreclosure papers, she apologizes but assures us that we will be able to stay through our lease in July. I was ok with this until last week.... We were served with yet another paper (wow our neighbors must really think we are bad people with all of the police officers that have been coming to our house) only this time it is a 30 days notice to vacate the premises. Apparently she never received the rental license that she said she would....

SO here we are, waiting to find out if we are actually going to have to be out in less than 30 days, looking for a new place, and stuck being unable to buy a home. :) YIPPIE!

Here is my request.... if by any chance you know of anyone, or any place with in 20 miles of Mankato that might be for rent PLEASE let us know. We would prefer a house (with a dog and a baby coming) but also aren't trying to be super picky. Any help would be really appreciated!

Weekend Wrap Up

Well this weekend was none too exciting. We finally didn't have anything to do so I got to stay home and DO NOTHING! It was nice for a change. Justin worked so unfortunately he didn't get to relax but, he had all last week off so he got to do for 8 days straight. :) I am pretty sure I stayed in my PJ's till about 2 or 3 both days. Some may call this lazy, I just call it RELAXING!

Last night my parents came up and ran a few errands. I got treated to Tav on the Ave and DQ! Quite the night if you ask me. This week is going to be crazy busy at work but that's ok. I would rather be busy than looking for things to do. Have a good week!

It's Miley AGAIN

Maybe I was right on the money about Miley Cyrus! I found this on MSN today and thought I should share it.... My disgust must be heard round the world! :)

Easter Plans

How crazy is it that Easter weekend is here already? JR, Bear, and I are headed to Iowa to hang out with my family. Ali is back from D.C. for the weekend so we are going to enjoy a jam packed few days full of wedding showers, bridesmaid dress shopping, and the EASTER BUNNY! (wonder if I will have to give up this childhood tradition next year since I will have my own child to spoil... Hope not!)

I am so ready to go back to Ringsted and try to relax. As you can see it won't happen too much but I am hoping to sit with my mom and figure out what she would like for flower beds this spring/summer. I have a real itching to get my hands dirty and since I don't have my own place, I will just take advantage of her space!

13 Week Baby Bump

Today was my 13 week check up. (I will be 14 weeks on Saturday) I went in this morning and got to hear Peanut's heartbeat which is still amazing, I love that sound! I got a clean bill of health and everything looked good.

Found out that I can still play volleyball so that was good news. I coach a Special Olympics team where there are 3 athletes and 3 partners. It is tons of fun and I didn't want to have to miss out. I was just told NO DIGGING (and yes Jamie, I promise I won't dive again!!) otherwise I am good to go.

A couple people have been asking to see what I have for a baby bump so I finally obliged and put one up. Now realize I don't look like I am showing much when I don't have a skin tight tank top on... I should have put up what I look like with regular clothes on but here I am in all my glory. (don't mind the ghetto booty!) Apparently the baby is about the size of a medium shrimp this week, crazy how fast it grows!

My mom told me I can thank her for showing so early... I guess it is ok, I am just glad I am past what looks like extra flab that isn't rounded... I hated that part!

The DeLashmutt Wedding

As I mentioned earlier, JR, my mom, and I headed to Davenport, IA for a wedding over the weekend. I was the "Matron of Honor" and JR was an usher so we were both pretty busy all weekend.

Everything started Friday evening when we went to the church for the rehearsal and then out of the dinner afterwards. Tiffany was a nervous wreck but what bride isn't?! I know I was!! So after dinner, off to the hotel we went to decorate the reception room.

We got up the next morning to get our hair and make up done. This is usually the best part of the day for me, I usually LOVE getting my hair done! This time however the lady that did mine didn't quite listen to what I wanted so I got a poof on the top of my head (that I could have done myself) and I paid $60 for it. I am not sure how curl it and pin the sides back turned into what I got but I guess it worked. I LOVED my make up though. It makes the day go SO much smoother!!

So off to the church we headed for the big day. Tiffany looked GORGEOUS in her dress, I loved it! We took a bunch of pictures (and I can't wait to see them!) but I did step in mud at some point (go figure!) so I had mud on the back of my dress. I truly am a klutz!

During the ceremony Tiffany was crying so I kept handing her Kleenex. I am sure I have never held that many wet Kleenex that weren't mine before! :) Good thing we are so close! After the DeLashmutt's were hitched we grabbed a ride in the party bus to do some bar hopping. I think everyone had a blast and JR rocked our new video camera so I can't wait to see what those turn out like.

The reception was tons of fun! I gave my speech and made everyone laugh so I accomplished my goal! The food was awesome and everyone had a great time. Tiff and Dan danced the evening away and the dance floor was always full. All and all I think the entire event was tons of fun! I was very honored to be part of the day and couldn't be happier for the 2 of them!

More pictures will be posted soon!! My mom took a bunch of Justin and me together on her camera so when I get those I will post them.

Miley Cyrus....... Who Cares?

I haven't done this for awhile but I am in need of some time to air my frustration so hear goes!

Obviously lots of people enjoy Miley Cyrus but I am definitely not one of them! She annoys the @#$* out of me. Justin and I watched the ACM awards last night and I thought her performance was terrible. I personally think she has a terrible voice but the worst part about last night was the fact that all of the words just kind of ran together like a jumbled mess. I hate when performers don't enunciate their lyrics.

This Hannah Montana thing has gotten out of hand too. I know lots of 'tweeners' love her but I just don't get it. It must be nice to be a one hit wonder and live off of your daughter's success! How many plugs does Disney really find necessary for this film.....

Quick Update on Last Week

Last week was a pretty busy one at the Hunecke's though I am not quite sure why. It seems like JR and I were passing each other either coming or going. Since Justin's Grandma has been in the hospital up here we have been making pretty frequent trips to visit. I think it worked out pretty well to have her so close to us but I realize it stinks for everyone else in the family.

My sister Ali and I have been web cam chatting every week during American Idol and last week was no exception. It is really nice to be able to see her as well as talk to her. She always wants to see my belly so that has been fun too. We figured out a way the other night to include April so we all 3 could chat.

I got my hair cut and colored last week too.... I had to get beautified for Tiff's wedding over the weekend. I just love my hairstylist. He is HILARIOUS and has done so much in his life. He was a dancer out in Vegas for 25 years. He worked at the Tropicana Hotel and MANY other shows through out Vegas. Every time I go in I am excited to hear about where he has been 'cuz he travels so much.

Friday morning we got up and headed down to Davenport for Tiff and Dan's wedding. I will post more about that later but it was a lot of fun. We picked my mom up in Clear Lake and she rode along with us. Justin had worked the night before so he slept the whole way down. Poor guy was pooped!

Hopefully this week won't fly by quite so quickly and I can get some blogging done!
