Pretty Impressed with Myself

Well I must say I am not too shabby when it comes to picking out the winners this season. I guess we will see if the streak continues next week. I am interested to see what happens next week and who will be on the wildcard show.

American Idol- Week 2

I was kind of disappointed with last nights performances.... I am not totally loving many of the singers. Here are my predictions :

We'll see how I do. Everyone picked terrible songs this week. I don't know what happened but it wasn't good. Even Paula was giving negative comments, that is never a good sign.

Next week Dancing with the Stars begins again.... Whatever shall I do?!

Cherokee weekend

Over the weekend Justin and I headed down to see his family in Cherokee. Jess and Mitch were down there too so it was nice to get to hang out with them.

We headed down late friday night after I got done with a LEEP dance. It ended up being even later than we originally thought because as I was driving back to my office I ended up being in a car accident. A lady ran a read light and slid into the side of my Tahoe. I WAS PISSED but lucky enough no one was hurt. The door still works so that is the good news. The crappy thing is that MN is a no fault state so we are hung for at least the deductible. GRRR! Here is the damage:

When we got up Saturday morning Justin, Jess, and Mitch headed over to Larry's to help finish laying the wood flooring in his dining room. Jo and I did what we do best- SHOPPING! Saturday night we hung with Jo for a bit and then headed to Larry's for game night. After some fierce competition at Cranium the boys won. The girls did come back and CRUSHED them when we played our own rendition of Star Performer from the Cranium game.

Sunday we got up and made our rounds and headed north. The trip was a quick one but it was nice to see everyone.

Misery of the flumblum!

All week I have been fighting the nastiest cold you can have! I am so tired of the scratchy throat, stuffy (yet still runny) nose, and a disgusting cough. BOO! I feel awful but know I can't skip work (which bites) because I have too many things to do.

I would so love to be laying in a hot bath right now. Probably sounds ridiculous but that is my favorite thing to do when I don't feel good. The worst part is that our water heater is so dinky we don't even get enough hot water to take a bath. Maybe I will run away to my mom and dad's for the night to lounge in their jacuzzi tub... Hmmmm sounds interesting!

Oh and by the way, flum blum is what my Grandma used to say when she heard one of us were sick. She would call to check in and ask if we had the flum blum of the blowhole. Disgusting yes but effective in helping me feel better!

American Idol thoughts- Week 1

So my initial thoughts about this season.... Wow, the new judge is a real B*$%h!! I really didn't like how she basically just piggy backed on everything that Randy said. And if she wasn't agreeing (which I am not sure she ever disagreed) she was just being rude/snotty. Whatever! Something about the way she comes off just rubs me wrong. I can't pin point it but there is something there.....

I am happy that Danny made it through. He has won my heart so I hope he hangs in there. His voice is great and I just love his personality. Let me tell you when it was between him and Tatiana I was a little nervous. She drove me nuts! Something about over dramatic girls that I just can't handle. Maybe it is because she was so busy flipping her hair and "marketing" herself that she didn't get the memo- WE DON'T CARE!

I am also glad that Michael made it through. I wanted Ann Marie to come through also but I guess I can't have everything! 2 out of 3 isn't a bad average. :)

Next week should be interesting. I can't wait to hear whats coming up next!

American Idol

Is anyone else excited about American Idol this year? I am probably the only lame-o that still likes the show but I do enjoy it. Now is when it gets good. I am not a big fan of the tryouts around the country. It really annoys me that they let so many crappy people through. Tonight should be fun because we get to see what the "Top 36" are really like. 2-3 of my favorites are going to be singing tonight so I am pumped for that! Well I guess get ready for my weekly ramblings about AI, lucky you!!!

Speaking of reality TV anyone enjoying this years Bachelor? I can't wait to see who wins!

I'm the what?!

Well, I am officially the Interim Director at work as of today. My boss called this morning and she has gone into labor thus, leaving me to hold down the fort. (this is 3 weeks earlier than planned/expected) These next 12 weeks will be rather interesting but I am up for the challenge! (I think) I guess I will know if I am really cut out for the Director thing after this experience. :)

Won't you be my Valentine?

Our weekend can be summed up by saying..... Not much! JR worked all weekend so we didn't see much of one another. To be honest I would have been perfectly content to just stay in bed all weekend BUT he has been snoring SO loud lately I can hear him in the basement. (2 floors away!) I feel kind of bad for him because he does have a bit of a cold but MAN, he really can saw some wood.

Anywho since he is so loud I find other things to do around the house. What you might ask, again I say.... not much! :) I did cook a somewhat yummy dinner in honor of Valentine's day. I think Justin was even sorta impressed. I figured since it was a holiday weekend and all I didn't have to do any of the house cleaning.... as I walked upstairs to head to bed I realized I probably shouldn't have put that off. Oh well, there is always time to do cleaning I suppose!

Valentine's Day

As many of you probably already know I am not a real big fan of Valentine's Day. I think it rather stupid BUT I am just like every other woman in the world. I still expect (a term I use lightly here) that my husband will remember it and think of getting me something.

It doesn't have to be anything big... shoot, even a card is nice. I am by no means complaining (or maybe I am) but in the past he hasn't always come through. I have had a few other days that he has been quite romantic though so maybe that is what I should focus on. :) He will kill me for writing this but he has shown a rather creative side in the past with hand made heart shaped cards. He is a keeper.

I guess I just get annoyed at how commercial the holiday is. I went to Hy-Vee over lunch and the line at the flower counter was disturbing... I guess I am happy I am a girl and my husband doesn't want flowers! Well, hopefully my hubby enjoys his card and chocolates... (how much more stereotypical can I get?!) Happy Valentine's Day!

breif baby update

Just a quick note, 'cuz a few of you have asked.... Not much has changed on the baby front. We are working at it (Justin loves it when I say this! :P) The good news is I don't have to have surgery (at least not this month) which was a real concern over the past 1-2 months.

Basically the Dr thought that I might need to have surgery to remove some of the endometriosis on my right ovary/tubes but, has since changed her mind. Apparently they go in through your belly button and do it laproscopically. Still, I can honestly say I am glad I don't have to have it just yet! So, off to another month! :)

Night at the Movies

Friday night ended up a little differently than originally planned but it was GREAT! I met my mom in Fairmont and we did a little shopping at the scrap booking store and a few other places and then went to my favorite pizza place- JAKES PIZZA- YUM!

Before we went to eat I called and invited my dad to come up and hang with us. We decided not to go to He's Just Not That Into You and went to Grand Turino instead. FANTASTIC movie! It wasn't what I expected but it was great. I think the message was amazing and it made me think about the way our world works. A real eye opener....

Justin is still in SD. He called me Friday afternoon and they hadn't caught anything and when I talked to him earlier today they still hadn't caught anything. (sounds like tons of fun to me- NOT) I hope he gets home relatively early tonight.

This week is the week of the newsletter at work. Usually this means I am overtaken with dates, prices, and writing. (it can fry my brain trying to to be "creative" non-stop all!) Anyway, it should be a pretty fun-filled week!

Spring Fever!

Justin took off last night and headed west to South Dakota for some ice fishing. (yes, I realize we live in the land of 10,000 lakes but I am guessing something else was the real driving force) He and Tommy got out there around 4:00 am this morning and from what I hear they are already enjoying themselves.

So, that leaves me home alone, to get all my spring cleaning done! I can't get ANYTHING done with Justin home. He drives me bananas when I am cleaning 'cuz it is don't throw that, why are you keeping that, lets go do this, or that.... you get the picture. My plan is to pretty much empty out our spare room as much as possible and ORGANIZE all of my craft stuff. I have started it about 1,000 times since we moved but something always pulls me away (mostly Justin). I am hoping to get a lot accomplished since I have been bit by a little of the spring fever bug.

This afternoon I am taking off early and heading to Fairmont to meet my mom for a girls day. I am not really sure what we are going to be doing but I am hoping for the movie "He's Just Not That Into You". Have a great weekend!

Superbowl Commercial Favorites

These are a few of my favorites.... What did everyone else think about the commercials this year?

I LOVED this commerical. I couldn't stop laughing!

Seriously how true is this?!

We had to rewind the TV just to watch this again and again!!

Superbowl Pics

Here are a few of the pics of our crew in our 3D glasses...
Thanks to Jess we had them to wear!

Taylor thought they were pretty cool since she had never
seen anything in 3D before! She was really excited!

Superbowl weekend

Well, after my crappy day on Friday I wasn't sure the weekend was going to be any better. Lucky for me everything turned around Saturday morning! Justin and I both slept in (which was MUCH needed) and then we headed out to do some "drive-by shopping" of houses we might be interested in looking at. Hopefully we will find out this week whether or not we will be able to purchase a home. (FINGERS CROSSED!)

When we got home I finished up some laundry while Tommy and Justin did their "trial run" with Tommy's new GIANT fryer. (they were planning to fry a turkey for the Superbowl on Sunday and wanted to make sure they had done it once before they tried it for real). So, they friend up a chicken and about that time Stretch showed up. We all hung around the house for awhile and then headed downtown to grab a bite to eat and then headed out on the town. We ended up back at the Above Ground where we watched a Poison tribute ban. They weren't too shabby so that was a fun!

Sunday morning we got up and did a little shopping for the last minute necessities for our party and then went home to get ready. MAN did we have a TON of food! I think everyone was full (and if not it was their own fault!) and had a good time. I have some funny pictures of everyone in their 3D glasses (thanks Jessica!) that I will post later. I love having parties but I really hate the clean up. After everyone left I was ready for bed but decided having a clean house when I woke up was a little more important.

So off to another busy, fun filled week!
