East Coast is calling

My sister Ali is officially moving to the East Coast on August 11th. She has accepted a job out there and is really excited/nervous/anxious and every other emotion you can think of . I am really proud of her for going for her dreams and making it happen. I am not going to say I am not a teensy, weensy bit jealous (CUZ I AM!!!) but at least I have an excuse to go out there again. I really love the East Coast and honestly thought if I was going to relocate anywhere that would be my new stomping ground, little did I know that Minnesota was as far north and Cedar Falls was as far East as I would end up. :) I guess I have plenty of life left I could always end up deciding to move out there but I am pretty comfortable where I am. Anyway, I am just really excited that Ali took the jump I never could and I wish her the best on her new adventure!

LEEP dances

So tomorrow night is the big Summer Fiesta dance. This will be my 3rd LEEP dance and I am hoping it goes a smoothly has the last 2 have. There will be approx. 300 people that show up so it will definitly be a party! JR is super excited to run the "bar" where he can sell pop and water! I even recruited my little sister to work for me! Isn't she lucky! This pic just gives you a very small taste of what the dances are like. The teme for the last dance was "The 50's" so the participants had a great time getting dressed up for the occasion!!

We are the champions

Today I was part of the coaching staff for our Special Olympics softball team and we had a great day. We started out a little rough playing a team that didn't necessarily believe in playing for fun and our guys got a bit down. They did a great job hanging in there and doing all they could but lost by 1 run. After lunch started our 3 game winning street. I was super impressed with the drive and dedication that they all showed. My favorite moment was when we finished the championship game with a score of 16-0 and they guys were SO excited!!!!! Team 1 felt it only appropriate to douse the coaches with water/ice/whatever else they could find. What a great day!

What you don't but should know about me......

1.) I am extremely emotional and tend to take things to extremes….
2.) I knew within a month I was going to marry Justin.
3.) I don’t know how to deal with death, I am afraid of it actually. Not dying itself but of being alone because those I care about die. I can convince myself of the worst within seconds of someone showing up late, not calling, or any other circumstance that would lead my mind to wander.
4.) I would have stayed in Cedar Falls forever if I could have. (Not sure I will ever get over leaving there)
5.) I am still trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life.
6.) My dream is to have a big family and have a home where when I walk in the door all I feel is love.
7.) I am secretly a pyromaniac! I love to play with fire… (Safely of course!)
8.) I hate the dark… dark hallways, dark skies, dark rooms, dark corners, dark nights, ANYTHING that is DARK! I get totally freaked out when I can’t see what is happening around me.
9.) I get totally claustrophobic almost immediately when I get around large crowds. I will do anything to avoid a crowded place, sitting in the middle of people in bleachers, or sit right next to someone. My personal space is something that is not to be messed with!
10.) My entire life has changed in less than a year. My perspective on life has changed, my opinions have changed, and my experiences have molded me into a different person…
11.) I love to play in the snow, run in the rain, and jump in the leaves.
12.) I am actually a pretty shy person........... until you get to know me!
13.) Traveling is a passion of mine. I would go anywhere in the world at least once!
14.) I think swinging at the park is one of the most fun/relaxing thing that a person could do. I could get lost on a swing for hours!!!!

Yes, I am a proud parent

Bear was loving his life out on the "farm". He loved the yard and all his freedom.

When he found out that we were moving to town he wasn't too happy.......

He was so unsure of how this new move was going to be so he pouted on the floor of the Tahoe.

He was a little unsure what he thought of the place..................

After a few days he decided that everything was for the better and he loves that his mom can come home for lunch to play with him. He likes that he gets to go on long walks now even if it means he has to be on leash.

Love you long time, FAVRE

As many of you have heard already there are lots of rumblings of Favre deciding he wasn't ready to retire.... I have to admit this is what I have been hoping for but I hate how all of this is going down. I don't understand how the Packer big wigs can be so closed off to the idea of Brett playing another year. He has brought a lot of things to those of us fans who have watched him loyally for the last 16-17 years. His undying love for the game of football and his fans has been something that not many could ever attempt to accomplish. I have to agree that he shouldn't have retired and then changed his mind but he is human! I really hope that Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy pull their heads out of their asses and really think about what would be good for the Packer team, whatever that may be.... Oh well here is to some great memories at Lambeau!

I attempted to go golfing!

Today Justin took me out golfing. I think this is my 4th time ever attempting the "sport". I have to admit I didn't really understand the purpose of the game until today.......... We teed off at 10:22 and the front 9 were a little rough. I realized that once I got JR out of my cart and into Chad's I did a whole lot better. I was convinced that he was telling me the wrong clubs to use so he could get a better score. :) who knows but I did WAY better on the back 9 so that was fun. I also figured out that the more you drink the better time you have.

I thought the day was going to be a total bust when I realized on the 18th hole that I had lost my cell phone. Lucky for me when Justin called it someone answered and they were only back one hole! I think we were out on the course till after 3 but all in all I think the afternoon was a success.... especially since I won't be mentioning my score. :)

Piccadilly Place

This room is our "extra room" we dont' have a lot
of purpose for it since the basement is our family
room but I still like it! :)

This obviously the kitchen and the next room is
the basement where we have a wood burning fireplace! (VERY excited about that!) Let me know what you think!

Howdy folks!

Hi everyone~
Well as you can see I am attempting something new.... Since I seem to totally suck at emailing everyone I thought this could be a nice/interesting way to stay in touch. I know I didn't invite everyone to read this blog but I am more than happy to send them an invite if I could get their email addresses again. I lost most of them when they shut down my old email so now if you want to reach me please use: mandyhunecke@yahoo.com I decided to go with that instead of trying to make another one with our internet provider cuz undoubtedly we will be moving yet again. Hopefully not for a LONG time though! As a friend of mine pointed out to me today we have moved 3 times in about 20 months! RIDICULOUS! Also, we no longer have our home phone we are just cell phone users now so if you need those numbers here they are:
Mandy 507-380-3633
Justin 507-380-3636

Have a great weekend!
